Polychronic

Polychronic is described as one not being on time. This describes me perfectly. I started thinking about why I am always late to everything and did not have any reason others that I was doing something else or I lost track of time. So when I really started to think about it, it because of my mother. My mother is ALWAYS late. I used to have to wait hours after school because she was doing something else or forgot. In the book Nonverbal Behavior on page 186, it says this is a scheduling of activities at one time. I could not agree more. I map out my day according to hours and write it all out in my planner and then never look at my planner again until I want to write something down. Why do we do this?

  1. I am definitely the same way, I write in my planner and it sits there the rest of the week. I also thought it was interesting you developed your pattern of being late, from it being reinforced by your mother.
